Terms & Conditions
The agreement between you and Asymptode for our private, one-to-one online tutoring services.
Last updated: July 27, 2026These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Asymptode website and our live, one-to-one online tutoring services ("Services"). Asymptode ("we," "us," or "our") provides private mathematics and science mentorship to students, purchased and managed by a parent or legal guardian. By enrolling, making a payment, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
Tutoring services
Asymptode delivers private, live online tutoring in mathematics and science for school-age students, primarily families in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and other English-speaking countries. Our approach is selective and mentorship-led rather than a mass-market or batch model.
We provide educational support and guidance. We do not guarantee any specific academic outcome, grade, test score, or admission result, as these depend on many factors beyond a tutor's control, including a student's own effort and engagement.
One-to-one classes
All sessions are one-to-one between a single student and their mentor. Classes are conducted online over a video-conferencing platform (Zoom). A session is delivered against your session package balance; each completed class consumes one session credit.
Session recordings are available whenever recording is enabled for a class. See our Privacy Policy for how recordings and class data are handled.
Enrollment & accounts
Enrollment begins with a consultation and an invitation to purchase a session package. Accounts are created for the parent or guardian and the student. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
- Accounts must be created and managed by a parent or legal guardian, not by a child.
- You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during enrollment.
- We may decline, suspend, or end an enrollment where these Terms are breached or where continuing is not in the student's interest.
Payments, invoices & packages
Tutoring is purchased as session packages. You can pay per session or choose a learning plan for better value. Payment is taken up front for the package you select, and an invoice and receipt are issued for your records.
- Payment methods. We accept secure online card payments through our payment gateway (Razorpay) and international bank transfers verified by our billing team.
- No processing surcharge. We do not add a gateway processing fee — the amount shown at checkout is what you pay.
- Currency. Prices are displayed and charged in the currency shown at checkout for your region.
- Sessions never expire. Unused sessions in a package do not lapse.
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.
Scheduling & attendance
Sessions are scheduled around the student's availability and time zone. A recurring weekly schedule is agreed, and upcoming classes appear in the student dashboard with join details.
- Please join on time so the full session can be used. Join links become active shortly before the class start time.
- No-shows. If a student does not attend a scheduled class without cancelling in advance, that session is treated as delivered and the credit is consumed. See the Cancellation Policy.
Rescheduling & cancellations
We understand school events, travel, and time zones. You may reschedule with reasonable notice and we will find a time that works. Classes cancelled outside the 2-hour lock window before start time are returned to your balance and automatically rescheduled.
Full details, including the 2-hour window and emergency credits, are in our Cancellation Policy.
Mentor conduct
Our mentors are expected to be prepared, professional, and respectful, to keep to the agreed schedule, and to communicate clearly with parents. If a mentor is unavailable for a scheduled class, we will offer a replacement time or return the session credit to your balance at no cost to you.
Parent & student responsibilities
- Ensure the student has a suitable device, a stable internet connection, and a quiet space for class.
- Help younger students join sessions on time and supervise as appropriate.
- Keep contact and scheduling information up to date.
- Treat mentors respectfully and raise any concerns with us promptly so we can help.
Intellectual property
All course materials, class notes, worksheets, recordings, branding, and website content are the intellectual property of Asymptode or its licensors, and are provided solely for the enrolled student's personal, non-commercial learning. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, publish, or share them publicly, or use them to train any model or service, without our written permission.
Prohibited use
- Sharing account access, session links, or materials with anyone outside the enrolled household.
- Recording, redistributing, or reselling sessions or materials without permission.
- Using the Services for anything unlawful, abusive, or harmful to mentors, staff, or other users.
- Attempting to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the platform.
Limitation of liability
The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Asymptode is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for events beyond our reasonable control (including internet or third-party platform outages).
Where liability cannot be excluded by law, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the affected sessions. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection laws in your country.
Governing law & changes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, where Asymptode operates, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights available to you in your country of residence.
We may update these Terms from time to time for legal, regulatory, or operational reasons. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we will take reasonable steps to notify you. Continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
