Privacy Policy
What personal information we collect when you use Asymptode, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Last updated: July 27, 2026Asymptode ("we," "us," or "our") operates www.asymptode.com and provides private, one-to-one online mathematics and science mentorship. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the rights available to you. Accounts are created and managed by a parent or guardian on behalf of a student.
Information we collect
Information you provide directly when you request a consultation, enroll, or manage your account:
- Parent / guardian full name, email address, and phone number (with country code).
- Student first name, grade level, country, time zone, and subject focus.
- Scheduling preferences and any notes you choose to share.
- Account details — name, email, role, and profile photo URL if you sign in with Google.
Collected automatically when you visit the site: IP address and country (for regional pricing and time zones), an encrypted sign-in session cookie, and analytics/performance events (see Cookies and Analytics below).
Student information
We collect the minimum student information needed to deliver tutoring: first name, grade, subjects, time zone, schedule, attendance, session history, and progress notes. Student information is used only to provide and improve the student's learning experience and to keep the parent informed. It is never sold or used for advertising.
Parent & guardian information
The parent or guardian is our contact and account holder. We use your contact details to coordinate scheduling, send invoices and receipts, share progress updates, and provide support — by email and, where you opt in, WhatsApp.
Analytics
With your implicit consent we use Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics/Speed Insights to understand page views, navigation, device type, referral source, and Core Web Vitals so we can improve the site. This data is aggregated and not used for automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Payment processing
Online card payments are processed by our payment gateway, Razorpay, and international bank transfers are verified by our billing team. Card and full bank details are entered on the gateway's secure environment — we do not collect or store your full card number, CVV, or complete bank details on our servers. We retain invoices, payment status, and receipts for accounting and legal purposes.
Communications
We send transactional messages you need — consultation confirmations, invoices and receipts, class and schedule updates, and sign-in emails — through our email provider and, where you opt in, WhatsApp. Internal operational alerts (for example, a new consultation request) may be sent to our private staff channel on Telegram. Class and course files are stored with our storage provider (Supabase).
Zoom classes & recordings
Live classes are delivered over Zoom. When a class is recorded (where enabled), the recording is made available to the enrolled student and parent through their dashboard, with access protected by a passcode. Recordings are used only to support the student's learning and are handled in line with this policy and Zoom's own privacy terms.
Data retention
- Consultation requests and account/booking records are retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for audit and legal compliance.
- Payment and invoice records are retained for at least seven years to meet accounting and tax obligations.
- Sign-in sessions expire after 30 days; verification tokens expire promptly after use.
- Analytics data follows the provider's default retention (typically about 14 months for GA4 event data).
International users & transfers
Asymptode operates from India and serves families internationally. Our service providers may process data on servers in India, the United States, or other countries. By using the Services you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, which may have different data-protection laws. We take steps to ensure your information remains protected wherever it is processed.
Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live (including GDPR and similar laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent.
- Opt out of analytics. Set localStorage "disableAnalytics" to "true" in your browser and reload, or use Google's opt-out add-on.
- Exercise a right. Email us and we will respond within 30 days. We may verify your identity first.
Children's privacy & security
Our website and accounts are intended for parents and guardians, not for children under 13. The parent provides basic information about their child solely to arrange tutoring. If you believe we have collected information directly from a child without parental consent, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We protect your information with HTTPS encryption in transit, encrypted HTTP-only session cookies, role-based access controls, and server-side validation. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to keep your data safe.
